The Abha Nagri, the town of brightness, is now famous for one of the deepest stepwells in the world, the Chand Baori stepwell. Abhaneri Stepwell visited as a part of the India Guided Tour, has turned out to be a spectacular example of great artistry and architecture.
Construction of the spectacular stepwell
Equivalent to that of a 13-story building, Chand Baori Abhaneri was constructed in medieval times with the objective of getting rid of the shortages of water by building a deep stepwell capable of holding enough water from the rains letting the population rely on it.
