MajnuKaTila, popularly referred to as ”Delhi’s Little Tibet”, is a wanderlust’s delightful affair. When I visited it for the first time while conducting one of my India Travel Tours, I fell in love instantly with the colorful and narrow streets. Also, there is a plethora of cafes where you can savor varied cuisines. We were curious to visit this place and found it peaceful and full of Tibetian people doing their usual business. What we found the most striking was the narrow lanes of MajnuKaTila passing by you, where you will find Tibetan restaurants, food points, shopping points, and a monastery. It’s the best place to find authentic Tibetan food and gifts. Small roadside cloth shops there are also impressive, letting you find some good stuff.
Take the first left and get to the Monastery area, which is highly popular as the main square of the colony. The evening feels amazing, too, letting you find many locals and Buddhist followers sitting there and praying while kids go skating and people enjoy the food.

When we visited MajnuKaTila as a part of the North India Travel Package, we enjoyed the food in the narrow streets and felt like roaming around in little Tibet. It is convenient to go, and once you reach there, you will find that the lanes are narrow. Shops selling garments & shoes, travel agencies, curio shops, restaurants, cafes, and houses on both sides add to the uniqueness. What’s worth appreciating is that though the lanes are narrow, they are very clean, giving you a laid-back and peaceful feeling.
As a good place for shopping, you will be amazed by the impressive collection here. The lane is narrow with practically no sunlight, and there, you will find a small Buddhist temple with some open space in front of it, letting people chit chat.
Restaurants in this area serve Tibetan and a few other kinds of foods, but what I love the most here is the Tibetan cuisine. I found the food fresh, and the serving was good.
MajnuKaTila, located by the banks of River Yamuna, is one of those places in Delhi where you won’t feel like you’re in Delhi. The Mini-Tibet of Delhi, aka MajnukaTilla, draws the attention of college students and tourists mainly due to the cheap eateries and garment shops.
Also, the remarkable aspect of the place is that you will get mountain-like vibes, the ambiance is tranquil, and the air smells incredible. Food, stylish clothes, shoes, ceramic pottery, and home decor are some selling points that attract people.

MajnukaTilla, filled with eateries selling authentic Tibetan food, will offer you plates of Momos to Laphing to Shabalay. Rest assured that you won’t be disappointed when it comes to food. The streets are busy, especially during the Evenings and weekends.
As a fan of Tibetan food or some Chinese/trade products like apparel, confectionaries, and shoes, it is worth visiting the MajnukaTilla. You can book one of the Tour Packages from Delhi with Titlyy and get into a zen mode, seeking peace and happiness. The narrow, windy lanes of the Tibetan Settlement will amaze you when you pass through the locals, with the shops selling Buddhist souvenirs, imported ceased products, Tibetan dishes, and small confectionery shops.
